We’ve picked Hotel Gotham as a luxury staycation as whilst it provides luxury, it’s also a unique experience. The property is decorated in dark colours and Art Deco inspired, and whilst it’s named after the the fictional home of Batman (well technically we think Batman lived on the outskirts of Gotham City in Wayne Manor but you know what we mean), the only nod to the character are the “do not disturb” signs that you can hang on your hotel door in the silhouette of a bat. The hotel is just 450 yards from Deansgate inside the imposing former bank building at the top of King Street, designed by one of the greatest British architects Edwin Lutyens, and originally opened in 1935, and has played host to a few celebrities visiting Manchester in the past.
