So after saying we try to avoid recommending chains, we’ve included two of Hotel du Vin’s properties just in Bristol, however, we really couldn’t leave the Avon Gorge by Hotel du Vin off the list. The hotel is set above Avon Gorge (which we’re guessing is where the name came from!) and overlooks Brunel’s famous suspension bridge. The property has a large terrace for al fresco dining and is home to the White Lion Bar offering modern Bristol food. The hotel is about 2 miles from Bristol city centre in Clifton and is a great spot for a romantic weekend away to explore all that Bristol has to offer.
